Annual Awards
The band's annual awards of Bandsperson of the Year, Player of the Year and Conductor's Award are presented annually at the Lewis Merthyr Band Dinner. Details of the individual awards and recipients to date are listed below
Bandsperson of the Year
The Bandsperson of the Year Award is made annually to a member of the band who has served the organisation with distinction throughout the previous twelve months. The recipient is selected annually by the members of the band in a closed ballot. This award was presented to the band by Paul Williams, his sister Valerie, and brother Alun in memory of their Mother and Father who were both long-term supporters of the Lewis Merthyr Band

Player of the Year
The Player of the Year Award is made annually to a member of the band who it is felt has performed with particular distinction throughout the previous twelve months. As with the Bandsperson of the Year Award, the recipient is selected annually by the members of the band in a closed ballot, and then awarded at the annual dinner. This award was created in 2018 in memory of John Thomas and David Arnold, both long-term members and supporters of the Lewis Merthyr Band

Conductor's Award
The Conductor's Award was inaugurated in 2018 by Lewis Merthyr Musical Director Craig Roberts and is made annually to a member of the band who it is felt, by the Musical Director, has contributed to the organisation over and above normal expectation and requirement. As with the Bandsperson and Player of the Year Awards, the award is presented at the annual dinner, and usually in the form of a bottle of the recipient's favoured mind-altering beverage.
