Belgium 2019
In October 2019, Lewis Merthyr Band travelled to Ostend, Belgium, where we performed alongside additional groups from across Europe and wider in three performances at the 5000 seat capacity Versluys Dome, as part of the 2019 International Taptoe Belgie The band enjoyed an absolutely superb visit, and were proud to represent Rhondda Cynon Taf and Wales on the international stage at this leading international show.

General information for the International Tattoo Belgium Ostend 2019
Dear Participant,
First, we would like to welcome you to the International Tattoo Belgium. The 8th edition will take place in the first weekend of October in the Versluys Dôme in Ostend and the second weekend at the Soeverein Arena in Lommel. You will participate in the first weekend.
Since we noticed in the past that too much information is not read, we will try to inform you completely as
briefly as possible.
Friday October 4th 2019
On Friday afternoon, the bandmaster briefing will be held in the pressroom of the Versluys Dôme.
Rehearsals start from 10:00. Your band will rehearse from 10:30 to 11:00
Detailed schedules as well as lunch and diner schedules can be found below and will be shown on the television-screens backstage.
The evening show will start at 20:00 and has a break of approximately 20 min
After the show, everyone is invited to the After Party that will take place in the hall around the arena
Saturday October 5th 2019
On Saturday we have 2 shows: at 13:30 and 20:00.
If needed, there will be another bandmaster briefing in the pressroom and extra rehearsals can be asked, in
advance, between 10:00 and 11:30.
VIP Reception:
After the evening shows there is a possibility for 2 members from your band/group to join the VIP Reception.
This will take place in the VIP Bar on the top floor.
Lodging:
You receive in the same mail the information about your lodging location
Your liaison will distribute the keys and help you with questions
After your stay, please leave the accommodation as tidy as possible. Any damage will be calculated and charged to the individuals' room(s) involved
Meals / Drinks:
*Every participant will receive from the liaison a key cord with badge, vouchers for lunch, dinner and for 2
bottles of water per day, plus beverage coins.
*Breakfast will be delivered in packages the evening before you leave to the lodging. These packages are made
per bungalow. This way you have more time before you go back to the Arena. Hotel guests have breakfast at the hotel.
*Lunch and Dinner buffets are served in the Arena. A time schedule per group will be announced on the
television-screens backstage. You can also ask your liaison
Lunch from 12:00 daily
Dinner from 17:30 daily
*Meals will only be provided to those who have a key cord and a meal-voucher!
*This also applies to the water vouchers and the beverage coins.
*Extra beverage coins can be obtained backstage at € 2,50 per coin
Programme:
The order of the show will also be announced through the television screens backstage.
Safety:
The organisation is NOT responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings. There are a small number of
lockers available in both arenas. Please gather your valuables per group to place them in a locker.
Security:
Due to the recent developments worldwide, extra checkpoints will be foreseen for participants and visitors.
People without a key cord with badge will not have access backstage!
If, for any reason, you have lost your key cord, you can only obtain a new one at the production office
accompanied with the bandmaster and your liaison.
General:
*Possession and use of drugs and/or liquors/spirits backstage, in any shape, is not allowed! When caught, the police will be informed, and the individual will be sent back home at their own charge. A bar is available for cast use
*Excessive drinking of alcohol will not be tolerated and may result in exclusion from participation.
*During the show, participants are not allowed to enter the public galleries. They can stay at the catering areas
for the participants and in the dressing rooms.
*The After Party on Friday and Saturday will take place around the Arena after the show.
*There will be enough space for dressing/changing costumes. The instruments can, if you wish, stay in the
Arena in Lommel. There will be a night guard present.
